Dallas sits on the Trinity River in the center of Dallas County where major Interstate highways converge. The city’s expansion began when securing rail service and Dallas found itself in a wonderful geographic position for transportation of abundant regional products. Cotton became the region's principal cash crop, and Elm Street in Dallas was its market. Dallas became the world center for the leather and buffalo hide trade. During the 1920s and 1930s popular music was centered in Deep Ellum which was a hotspot for major jazz and blues musicians.  A big city was born.

This upscale shopping plaza was also the first self-contained shopping center in the country and was officially declared a National Historic Landmark in 2000. 

Dallas Farmers Market: The farmers' market in Dallas is a huge deal, unlike any other place in the state. This sizable public market located downtown is home to three different kinds of sellers, yard sales, workshops, cooking classes, seasonal events, and more. 

Trinity Groves: At Trinity Groves, you'll find an eclectic mixture of new restaurants, retail shops, artistry, and entertainment options.

The Mansion Restaurant on Turtle Creek is a Texas icon serving New American cuisine housed inside the majestic Rosewood Mansion. 

Fun, laid-back Deep Ellum Brewing Co. is the largest independent brewery in North Texas and the home of the Dallas Blonde, Deep Ellum IPA, and Blind Lemon Hard Seltzer.

Fair Park is an extravagant cultural and entertainment center in Dallas and the most-visited attraction in Texas. Featuring five museums and ten performance and sporting venues, Fair Park is a State and National Historic Landmark with the most extensive collection of 1930s Art Deco exposition-style architecture in the country.
