Exterior

• Keep yard mowed, weeded, and free of clutter
• Apply fresh mulch to flower beds. Plant flowers!
• Paint wooden fences
• Paint front door
• Replace welcome mat
• Tighten and clean all door handles
• Replace torn or broken screens
• Clean windows inside and out
•  Power wash exterior
•  Clear out gutters and downspouts
• Place potted plants on porch

Interior

• Clean and organize cabinets, closets, and bookshelves
• Remove all person items, such as family photos and collections
• Remove oversized furniture or anything that makes a room seem smaller
• Rent a storage unit and start packing! Packed boxes should not be stored in the house or garage, as that makes the house feel cluttered.
• Clean and/or paint walls and ceilings
• Shampoo carpets
• Make minor repairs, including leaky faucets, torn screens, cracked caulking and discolored grout, etc
• Replace worn cabinet handles and door knobs

• Set dining room as if preparing for special dinner party
• Leave. Take children and pets with you.
